The University is looking at appoint a Project Support Officer to provide an efficient and flexible administrative and project support service supporting all key activities. These include bid compilation, costing activity, contract management of non-complex projects, compilation of management information, events administration, reporting, and other project supporting activities as required for the complete delivery of the GFU service.

This role will involve contributing to the maximisation and diversification of University external funding sources through supporting the development, quality and reputation of key externally funded Engagement and Research projects. You will take a pro-active role in providing a professional, customer-focused, external bid funding support service. Particularly through provision of user-friendly expert advice, guidance, and support in relation to EU grants and contracts, and Research Council and Charity Funders to the academic community. The successful applicant will contribute to the submission of bids in accordance with internal and external approval processes whilst assuring contract compliance and delivery of strategic externally funded projects.

The successful applicant will be educated to first degree level or equivalent. They will have work experience of supporting bidding to external funders for research and knowledge transfer and experience of project administration as well as the preparation of bid costing and providing timely, accurate and relevant management information.

The successful applicant will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with minimum supervision and have excellent communication skills.

The work will be carried out under the management of the Grants and Funding.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.

**School/Service: Research and Enterprise Service**

**Contract Type: Fixed term contract for 6 months or upon the return of the substantive postholder, whichever is sooner**
