**Rate of pay**:£20,202 FTE increasing to £21,164 FTE following successful completion of probationary period

**We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual who enjoys the diversity of a generalist HR position to join our team as an Assistant HR Officer We want someone who enjoys being in an office environment as this position is not suitable for remote working.**

Award-winning Devon based charity Westbank have an exciting and rare opportunity for you to join our HR team.

**Your role will include**:
**As the Assistant HR Officer**:

- You will maintain the employee database, including input of new starters, leavers and employee and organisational changes
- You will work closely with Managers across the employee life-cycle, including Recruitment, Induction, Compliance, Pay & Benefits, Talent Management, Learning & Development & Leavers.
- You will be the first point of contact for all HR enquiries
- You will maintain and manage attendance, including sickness absence records
- You will play an active part in advising and supporting managers and colleagues alike on all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes;
- You will ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.

**About You**:
We will be shortlisting on the following criteria so please refer to how you meet these in your CV, covering letter, or supporting statement:

- Relevant HR qualifications - minimum CIPD Level 3 or equivalent;
- Proven HR generalist experience of three years;
- Experience of providing specialist HR advice to line managers
- Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and the ability to deal with matters sensitively and tactfully.
- A proactive team player with strong customer service and problem-solving skills, and the ability to spot and deal with issues before, or as, they occur;
- Good working knowledge of MS Office IT suite, and use of an HR database system;
- Ability to plan, prioritise and use own initiative, with excellent attention to detail;
- Ability to collate accurate data records and create meaningful reports.
- Right to work in the UK

Westbank is an award-winning registered charity, based in Devon, established in 1986. The organisation was originally set up to provide practical and emotional support to people in the villages along the west bank of the River Exe. The organisation now works with communities and individuals across Devon.

The centre in Exminster includes a gym with disabled access equipment, Kidzone, conference facilities, day care services and volunteering; our community support services are delivered to local communities across Devon. We also deliver our Devon Carers and Devon Young Carers services across Devon.
