Principal Air Quality Consultant

Join an expanding independent consultancy and work on a range of projects, from single source dispersion studies through to complex multi-source industrial emission appraisals and large-scale road emission modelling. Undertaking both air quality and odour assessmentsand ambient and indoor air quality monitoring work, you will be involved in all aspects of project management, from client liaisons through to technical work, report writing, feedback, compliance, and more.
This role will not constrain you to one type of project work but will instead allow you to pursue work you are interested in, tailoring the role. **What you’ll be doing**:
This role will have an even split between delivery and business management responsibilities.

- Provide technical expertise, acting as a leader in areas that fit your experience and interests. This will include managing and delivering Air Quality Assessments, Dispersion Modelling Studies, Odour Assessments, Bioaerosol Assessments, Air Quality Monitoring,and more
- Provide technical training, management, and mentoring to junior staff members, facilitating their development.
- Further develop the client portfolio, all the time providing input and your personal insights into marketing strategies to cultivate new position relationships.
- Use your eye for detail when technically reviewing work, ensuring quality assurance for final delivery to clients. You will also prepare factual and interpretive reports.
- Manage a portfolio of projects at any one time, whether as an individual or as part of a team.
- Produce quotes and tenders.
**What experience you’ll need to apply**:
The client is looking for someone with a strong grounding in the air quality sector. If you have good technical knowledge but have not yet had much exposure to training junior staff members, that is not a problem.
- Experience managing their own projects from initial proposal through to final invoicing.
- Knowledge of the standard methodologies required for the assessment of road, industrial, odour and dust emissions.
- Good technical proficiency and commercial acumen. This will include dispersion modelling for roads and point sources using ADMs, alongside business development and/or project management skills.
- Proficient data analysis and interpretation skills.
- High levels of attention to detail, from technical aspects through to report writing.
- The drive and determination to further your personal development, in-line with a tailored training plan.
- Some experience in upskilling and supporting the technical development of junior team members.

This role offers a hybrid working split, with the ability to work from home 2-days a week. The rest of your time will be split between site work and the Manchester office.
