**Summary**

We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our dynamic team at WT Transport. In this role, you will be essential in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring efficient delivery processes, and maintaining our high service standards. Your contributions will directly impact our operational success and customer satisfaction.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintain a sound understanding of the complete distribution process
- Plan and control company activities relating to the transportation of customer goods
- Receive and confirm orders for transportation
- Find optimal solutions for transportation and communicate solutions to customers
- Optimise traffic routes and costs
- Effective co-ordination of drivers through on-going communication
- Constant review of ongoing work to ensure time and resources are efficiently utilised
- Maintain communication with drivers and customers to ensure delivery targets are met
- Ensure that all relevant documents are completed as per company standards
- Maintain accurate records
- Respond to complaints and comments appropriately
- Ensure telephone calls are answered promptly in the absence/unavailability of the Transport Administrator
- Always maintain a clean and tidy work area
- Assist the operations manager in implementing changes to improve operating procedures
- Ensure compliance to standards in respect of all company requirements
- Comply with all company policies, rules and procedures at all times
- Undertake training, development and re-assessments as required to meet legislative or organisational requirements
- Report any accidents in the workplace immediately
- Be familiar with and follow the company’s health and safety policies, guidelines and procedures at all times
- Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives
- Effectively communicate with all staff to ensure safety and efficiency of the site between different areas of the business
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues

- Ability to work on their own initiative
- Manage workload effectively in a pressurised environment
- Maintain a confident, professional and welcoming approach at all times
- Pro-active attitude to problem solving
