Unique opportunity for a Facilities and Porterage Assistant to join a prestigious training facility in Chatham, Kent. £22K + excellent benefits, training and career prospects. 37 hours per week (8-4.30), permanent, to start as soon as possible.
The Facilities & Porterage Assistant will assist the Facilities Manager in ensuring that the premises and equipment occupied or used by MKC Training and the related services and facilities, are properly recorded, maintained and serviced to the highest standard to enable them to meet contractual obligations and ensure that training continues as planned.

Essential:
Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10, basic knowledge of computer based programs
Good oral and written communication skills
GCSE or equivalent Qualifications in Maths and English
Proven history of being able to prioritise workloads
Ability to work as part of a team and be answerable to immediate line manager and other Operations Division managers
Full UK Cat B Driving License
Desirable:
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or Equivalent basic computer Qualification
Associate of British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and working towards BIFM courses
Experience of working within Facilities Management
Proven history of dealing with external agencies/companies in order to procure goods and services
Use of Asset Management system
Attention to detail
An enthusiastic and ‘can do’ attitude using own initiative and self motivated
Facilities and Porterage Assistant
- Assist the managing of small to medium scale Capital Expenditure projects. Liaising with end users, contractors and managers. Supervising works and accepting facilities to expected standards on behalf of the company
- Escorting contractors while on-site completing projects and carrying out an on-site induction process in line with the company’s security process. This is to enable us to use our own contractors more to deliver a better service with the capital project delivery.
- Co-ordinate the physical disposal of all MKCTS surplus assets in conjunction with assisting to keep track off all company asset lists including sch 16.
- Porterage of furniture to various departments across all MKC buildings
- Assisting the Facilities Manager with completing capital expenditure projects (taking photographic evidence, checking progress, snagging, obtaining quotes etc.)
- Provide high quality and direct administrative support to the Facilities Manager. Liaise directly with external agencies to procure items of miscellaneous equipment and/or furniture items.
- Carry out visits to internal departments to deal with facilities issues.
- Carry out varying levels of Manual handling tasks throughout the MKCTS Departments.
- Maintain an accurate record of replacement and/or new GFE assets.
- Travel between MKCTS sites as required by means of a private or company vehicle.
- Provide administrative holiday cover for other staff members as required.
- Provide vehicle escorts to companies arriving on site with deliveries for the Department.
- Assisting in the management of the environmental spreadsheet (inputting meter readings, paper usage etc.)
- Co-ordinate the collection of secure shredding and monitor the environmental impact.
- Collection / escorting of deliveries for all operations teams (Facilities, Maintenance, IT) from reception
- Working with Maintenance team to provide basic porterage function
- Assist in carrying out of PAT Testing
- Organise and maintain the Facilities stores with stock checks for furniture, clothing and first aid.
- Complete room utilisation checks
- Carry out annual asset audits.

Salary of £22K pa, excellent benefits to include: 6 weeks holidays (plus bank hols), contributory pension, private healthcare, on-site gym / sports equipment, sick pay, cycle to work and on-going professional development. Monday to Friday, 37 hours.
