**The job itself**:
The Role

A Your Money Advisor is a key part of the Revenues and Benefits team helping to deliver a first-class service to the residents of the East Riding.
- Advising customers on ways to maximise their income
- Understanding and explaining benefit entitlement
- Helping them to manage their household budget
- Helping to sustain tenancies
- Understanding priority debts
- Referring or signposting to other services both internal and external
- Provide debt advice
- Setting sustainable arrangements for rent and council tax arrears
- Maintaining in-depth case notes

You will need to be supportive and empathetic with our customers but must be able to give clarity around priority debts. You must have the ability to stay calm in difficult situations and work well under pressure and meet targets.

Good organisational skills and attention to detail is crucial and you must be comfortable visiting customers alone in their own home and will need access to a car for this role. You must be able to build a rapport with our customers and colleagues. Excellent communication skills and the need to maintain confidentiality is a requirement.

Working from home and some office days at County Hall, Beverley - due to customer needs visits will be in the Goole area.
