The team requires an Independent Reviewing Officer and Child Protection chair. This is a dual role for Children Services.
Previous experience in chairing child protection conferences and Looked After reviews are essential for this role.
The role also includes acting as a consultant to managers, social work staff and other agencies about policy, procedure and practice relating to Child Protection/safeguarding and Children Looked After.
You will be required to undertake face-to-face chairing of child protection conferences, as well as seeing children in their placements for looked-after reviews.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To chair Initial and review child protection conferences.
- To carry out the IRO function in line with all recent laws and regulations

**Unless the DBS requirement stated above is for a Basic Disclosure, your DBS must be either through us or be accompanied by a subscription to the DBS updating service.**
**Qualifications**:
- Must hold registration with Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC)
- Education Degree/post graduate or equivalent recognised social work qualification. CQSW (75-91); DipSW (91-09)
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in chairing child protection conferences and Looked After reviews are essential for this role.
- Previous experience acting as a consultant to managers, social work staff and other agencies about policy, procedure and practice relating to Child Protection/safeguarding and Children Looked After.
- A strong background in leading face-to-face chairing of child protection conferences, as well as seeing children in their placements for looked-after reviews.
