Barista

B Bagel is hiring a Barista/FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM MEMBER for our new store in Swain's Lane, N66AG.

As a Barista, you will work within the Front of House team and play a pivotal role in providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for B Bagel’s costumers. Your responsibilities will include coffee preparation, customers service and maintaining hygiene, health and safety standards in the bar area. You will also assist customers with their selections, process transactions and ensure that the shop front of house operations run smoothly. as a passionate barista, you will have a deep appreciation for the art of coffee-making. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, where you can showcase your creativity, attention to detail, and outstanding interpersonal skills.

In this role, you will assist the Head Barista and the Shop Manager in the day-to-day functions of the store and become an asset to the team; proactively assisting other staff members when necessary. As a Front of House team member, you will be responsible for delivering the B Bagel experience to all our customers through maintaining an excellent product knowledge and presenting our products to the highest quality.
- **Duties includes**:_

**Coffee and Juice Making**:

- Expertly prepare a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, latte, cappuccino, macchiato, using espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment.
- Make a smoothies and juices such as Apple/orange/carrot
- each one needs a different machinery operation knowledge.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of coffee and cold drinks.

**Customer Service**:

- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking their orders accurately, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Customize coffee orders according to customers' preferences, including adjusting sweetness levels, milk choices, and espresso shots.
- Suggest bakery items to complement coffee orders and enhance the overall customer experience.

**Menu Knowledge**:

- Have a comprehensive understanding of the shop coffee menu, including different types of coffee beans, flavour profiles, and brewing methods.
- Stay updated on seasonal offerings and specials to inform customers and promote sales.

**Front of House Operations**:

- Assist with front-of-house operations, including serving food items, packaging orders, and maintaining display cases.
- Collaborate with kitchen to coordinate coffee and food orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
- Process customer orders and payments accurately using a POS system or cash register.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop area, including wiping down tables, restocking supplies, and sanitizing work areas.

**Upselling and Promotion**:

- Recommend additional products, such as bagels, pastries or sweets to customers purchasing coffee.
- Promote bakery specials, loyalty programs, and seasonal promotions to increase sales and customer engagement.
- Encourage customers to try new coffee blends or specialty beverages through effective communication and suggestive selling techniques.

**Teamwork and Communication**:

- Work collaboratively with bakery colleagues, including kitchen team members, bakers, and Front of House, to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer service.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks, share information, and address any issues or concerns that arise.
- Support fellow staff members during busy periods, offering assistance and maintaining a positive work environment.

**Quality Control**:

- Monitor the freshness and quality of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients used in coffee preparation.
- Conduct regular taste tests to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to management promptly to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Friendly and outgoing demeanour, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience preparing coffee and a genuine passion and knowledge of the product.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, a proactive and energised individual capable of taking initiative.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: £12.00-£13.75 per hour
