Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary SEND Case Worker to work in Islington. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and will involve working full-time hours (Monday - Friday from 9am-5pm). The hourly rate will range from £19.00 - £22.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company). The working arrangements are 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

The role:
A key part of this role will be to respond to initial enquiries that come into the service to provide impartial and accessible advice and support in a full range of matters relating to SEND law and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- To provide information and advice on local policy and practice, the Local Offer, Personal Budgets, the law on SEN & Disability, health and social care and support income maximization for families.
- To provide confidential and impartial advice to young people on their own if requested and promote the voice of the child/young person throughout the work with families.
- To provide support in resolving disagreements including mediation and tribunals.
- To provide information and advice on exclusions.
- To work in a conciliatory way to facilitate communication between all stakeholders.
- To develop positive working relationships with all agencies involved and to work within the CAF, TAC or TAF processes.
- To work in line with Information, Advice & Support Service (IASS) Network Quality Standards.
- To undertake required initial training including IASS Legal Training, Independent Support training and IPSEA. To undertake further training as required for continuing professional development.
- To keep accurate, up to date and confidential records and case notes.

Applicant Requirements:

- Qualifications: N/A.
- Experience: 1+ year of experience within a similar role.
- Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and 2 x references.
- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
