Head of Finance

Altum Consulting is delighted to be partnering with Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in its search for a new Head of Finance and Resources to support the next stage of the organisation’s development in its new purpose-built home in Peckham, south London.

A world-leading drama school, Mountview is a conveyer belt of young talent with 70% of West-End productions featuring Mountview graduates. Its purpose-built facility was opened in 2018 and features two state-of the art theatres, TV & radio studios and an on-site café, bar and rooftop restaurant. Following the pandemic restrictions, it is a highly exciting time for the organisation to finally be able to make the most of its new premises and continue to develop talent within the performing arts.

**The Head of Finance & Resources will be responsible for**:

- Managing a team that currently comprises of a Finance Business Partner; Finance Officer; HR Business Partner and HR Officer.
- Leading on finance and resource strategy for the organisation alongside the Executive Director and ensuring its implementation
- Leading on month-end finance duties, supervising and delegating as appropriate
- Leading on the preparation of year-end financial statements and working with the organisation’s auditors
- Overseeing the annual budgeting process and regular monitoring and reporting
- Ensuring effective financial compliance checks and controls are in place
- Financial Analysis including business cases and investment appraisals
- Recruitment and retention of staff

**The ideal Head of Finance & Resources will**:

- Be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) **Essential**:

- Be a proactive individual with a problem-solving mindset **Essential**:

- Have a background within arts and/or higher or further education **Highly Desirable**:

- Have a real interest in performing arts **Essential**:

- Have experience leading on financial year-end **Essential
