Our client is a manufacturing and engineering company with market leading products and a large plant footprint here in the North East. They are currently looking to strengthen their technical function with an experienced Manufacturing Manager who will takeresponsibility for the day to day operations within a fast moving, highly complex environment.
The Role:
Responsible for leading a large manufacturing team, with specific focus on health, safety & environmental, increasing efficiency, reducing cost, delivering productivity and ensuring on-time delivery of quality products to their customers. The role with provideinspiring leadership to a multi-shift production team to ensure customer requirements are fully satisfied whilst operating within budgeted expenditure levels.
- To ensure that all plant production processes and activities are managed in a manner which maximises team member safety and complies with all relevant environmental and Health & Safety Legislation.
- Set and maintain excellent standards of housekeeping within all areas of responsibility and ensure safe working practice is adhered to at all times.
- Produce products in standard time to defined process and quality requirements within agreed budget levels.
- To establish, develop and motivate a world class team, driving performance, lean strategies and a continuous improvement mind set across the organisation.
- Provide input to and support of the corporate strategic initiatives.
- To provide leadership on all aspects related to the manufacturing of products, to fulfil customer needs in the most efficient and profitable way.
- Ensure best people performance and lead with both integrity and fairness.
- Develops with HR an environment conducive to personal learning and development ensuring all team members are fully informed and equipped to deliver maximum performance.
- Co-ordinates activities of the team to optimise cost performance of the plant.
The Person:

- Hold a diploma in Supervisory Management, or ideally degree qualified with a supervisory management or engineering bias.
- Experience of driving a strong culture of HSE.
- Experience in interview skills & the selection process in general.
- Have the ability to lead and motivate a team of people to bring out the best in them.
- Experience of high volume assembly operations or engineering product manufacturing.
- Able to plan and manage resources to achieve objectives and priorities
