**The Role

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and highly organised Buyer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the purchasing of goods, materials, and services to ensure that the businesses operational needs are met, consideringprice, quality, quantity, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.

This position belongs to the recently formed Industrial EMEA/APAC business unit and reports to the Buyer Team Leader based in Farnborough, Hampshire.

**Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Buyer include, but are not limited to:

- Negotiate and schedule material demands from ERP system to support production schedule
- Sourcing and negotiating the best price possible to deliver on-going cost savings for the company
- Order placement in office 365 and factor in usage history, lead time, and the current market
- Monitoring supplier OTIF regularly, and querying with suppliers where necessary
- Track cost increases and cost savings within procurement
- Search for new suppliers to add to our supply chain
- Processing requisition requests from other internal departments in a professional and timely manner
- Support accounts with invoice queries and resolving them in a timely manner
- Conduct supplier reviews against company procedures
- Make required site visits to new and existing suppliers
- Make sure all quality standards are understood and maintained by the suppliers
- Query non-conformances with suppliers and work with them to resolve these issues
- Ensure optimum stock levels are maintained.
- Supporting the Buyer Team Leader in their absence.

**The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Buyer are:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Buying role, preferably in the manufacturing sector
- Multiple supplier management and relationship experience
- Experience using MS Excel and databases, preferably Office 365 and SAP
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills
- Team player and problem solver
- Punctual and excellent time keeping
- Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems
- Ability to assess priorities and work on own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure
- Highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail
- Results focused and committed to achieving deadlines
- Ability to read engineering drawings would be advantageous.
