**Summary** The Warehouse Assistant works as part of the Supply Chain Team and has interaction with the UK Production, Quality, Shipping and Engineering teams to support the successful fulfilment and on-time delivery of customer orders; increasing efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction. This role has a two-fold purpose with 50% of the role carrying out general warehouse and housekeeping duties within defined areas and 50% involving liaison with the wider plant and their teams to ensure any urgently required ad hoc materials and services are sourced and delivered to plant. The Warehouse Assistant must work collaboratively with all partners (both internal & external) while understanding the needs of the business and, with direction, gaining knowledge for prioritisation of requests to aid the overall success of the Company. In terms of the Warehouse Role, the job holder must participate in warehouse operations and activities, including but not limited to stock checks, storing materials, staging, picking, packing and scanning of orders in line with recognised SOP’s. Loading and unloading of trucks, the job holder must be detail orientated and possess the physical and mental stamina that the role requires; playing an important role in ensuring warehouse and operations operate with optimum precision and efficiency. There is also the requirement to cover Warehouse Shift Operators absence requirements (which will include both Saturday & Sunday shifts). A variation in the working week may be required. **PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** *** **Warehouse**: - Responsible for all duties withing the job holder’s remit including housekeeping, see _Appendix 1_ - Move and transfer products between various sections of the warehouse and production areas as needed - Use forklifts, reach trucks, pump trucks, etc., to transfer and deliver goods - Perform both consumable and raw material counts - Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in good working order - Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to management - Ensure all housekeeping procedures and task are carried out in line with Company Procedure - Follow all warehouse policies and SOPs - Always adhere to Health & Safety rules and regulations - Wear protective clothing and equipment as required - Operate tools and machinery assigned to the job holder safely and efficiently according to company protocol; for examplefork lift trucks and floor cleaners - Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks **Operations**: - “Runner" to collect urgently required items. - “Utility” to cover additional duties linked to the operations which include housekeeping in the plant - Ensure areas where the Floor Scrubbers cannot reach are swept and mopped - Clean North & South Yards, ensure leaves and debris are collected and disposed of. - Bunds are pumped and kept clean. - Control of Production Consumables, Cleaning equipment, Labels, Oils & Lubricants. - Spill Shed Stocks are maintained. - Deliveries are checked, then put away in the appropriate locations, delivery notes to go to relevant departmental managers. **SKILLS REQUIRED** *** - Previous warehouse experience preferred - Forklift certification - Ability to perform physically demanding tasks whilst standing - Excellent verbal communicator and have the ability to communicate in a written format appropriate to the intended audience - Ability to perform basic maths to enable the Job Holder to complete relevant assigned task - Computer literate - Proficiency in inventory software, databases & systems - Familiar with modern warehouse practices, methods and equipment - Thorough, alert and detail orientated - Dependable and responsible - Strong work ethic - Comfortable working independently - Makes safety a priority - Have a genuine desire to make a difference in a customer-centric organisation operating at an extremely fast pace **QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS** *** To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
