Metering and Connections Performance Manage

To lead on the provision of meter work services within an agreed commercial framework, ensuring safe and cost-effective delivery of services. As well as leading the centralised connections admin team through 3 Team Managers and metering analyst for operations.Maintain and develop relationships within the Operational Regions and key internal and external stakeholders, seeking to share best practice and drive continuous improvement to ensure delivery of compliance, agreed standards and excelling in customer delivery.
**THE ROLE**
- Lead a team of connections account managers and team managers to drive performance within the connections area
- Assist the operational regions in delivering connections guaranteed standards of performance (GSOP)
- Monitor, evaluate and control the delivery of domestic and I&C meter work in accordance with agreed commercial framework
- Drive operational performance against agreed KPIs ensuring any areas of non-conformance/under-performance are effectively managed through remediation actions
- Accountable for delivering operational targets within the area(s) managed
- Monitor actual performance levels against policy work targets (phase plans). Work with internal stakeholders monthly to amend forecasts, considering performance levels, operational challenges and consider recovery plans that may be required
- Work the operations control centre to deliver accurate and timely reports to measure operational delivery performance and analyse data to evaluate performance against a range of criteria, including GOSP standards
- Lead on external and internal audit requirements for metering, assess and approve GT2 requests from other MAMs
- Ensure that actions arising from audits and inspections are resolved within agreed timescales and any deviation from required standards are addressed via agreed processes and improvement plans
- Work collaboratively with Operational Regional Engineering Managers to identify opportunities for sharing and implementing best practices across all areas. Ensure consistent ways of working are implemented, enabling flexible ways of working across all regions,identify trends, carry out root cause analysis and develop action plans
- Work with the Customer Experience to drive improvements in-line with changing customer demands and trends
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**
- Great people management and leadership skills
- Able to prioritise competing demands to ensure standards are maintained, deadlines achieved, and customer expectations are satisfied
- Experience of working with field-based teams, stakeholders, and operational depots to plan or execute work is desirable
- Able to develop and maintain highly effective multi-level relationships, effectively balancing short and longer-term needs
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, in particular working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to plan and deliver contracted work volumes
- Demonstrates personal commitment and drive to ensure delivery of results
- Basic understanding of contract law, metering, and connections industry
- Sound analytical skills - able to draw conclusions from multiple data sources
- Strong communicator - verbally and written
- Awareness of metering technical policies, processes, and systems (desirable)
- Strong skills in all MS Office tools, especially excel (nested formulas and functions, pivot table manipulation, visual data representation).
