**Global International Arbitration Knowledge Specialist 12m FTC**

Reporting into the Head of Knowledge Management - Europe, and Partners of the Global International Arbitration Practice this role will also work closely with the Global International Arbitration Professional Support Lawyer.

This role requires an experienced law graduate on a 1 year contract (renewable at the partners’ discretion) to support the Global International Arbitration Practice (“the Group”) in monitoring developments in the legal and business environment; drafting regular client alerts; carrying out research tasks; assisting with thought leadership initiatives; and providing other support as needed.

**The Department**: Knowledge Management

**Hours**: 3 days per week. 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexibility in accordance with the needs of the business.

**Responsibilities**:
Current Awareness, Know-how and Thought Leadership
- Monitor and keep the Group informed about important developments in relevant law or business environment;
- Monitor and keep the Global International Arbitration PSL informed about key developments affecting the Group’s key clients and work with them to plan client alerts that are highly relevant;
- Help prepare, draft and co-ordinate regular legal and market updates for the Group’s clients, in particular draft daily client alerts on anti-suit injunctions and arbitration court cases in the commercial court;
- Support partners in the Group on publications, articles, client alerts and speeches;
- Assist with the Group’s thought leadership initiatives on public international law (PIL), investment treaty and commercial arbitration matters;
- Assist the Global International Arbitration PSL with Group bi-annual newsletters for clients;
- Work with the Information Centre and the Global International Arbitration PSL in relation to resource related matters

Research
- Undertake research on complex arbitration matters, in particular in public international law, investment treaty and commercial arbitration matters;
- Prepare well-structured and detailed memoranda relating to the research matters for a variety of audiences including arbitration funders, clients and the Group’s lawyers;
- Assist with the drafting of submissions on billable matters (as appropriate), particularly with respect of legal arguments and analysis and areas of his/her research.

Other
- Participate in regular meetings of the Professional Support function and Knowledge Department and liaise with other PSLs to facilitate the sharing of best practice and knowledge;
- Provide other knowledge support to the Group as may be assigned by the Leaders of the Group, the Global International Arbitration PSL, or the Head of Knowledge Management (Europe).
