Job title: Head of Governance, Assurance and Risk

**Salary**: £61,638.83 rising to £64,882.98 on successful completion of six-month probation

Location: L11 2SF (Hybrid)

Contract: Permanent

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Governance to provide professional support to Cobalt Housing’s Board and Committees. This is a proactive and hands on role, where you will bring your knowledge and expertise to a wide variety of complex and confidential situations. The person appointed must be able to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, trust, and confidentiality.

The Head of Governance acts as Cobalt’s Company Secretary, advising the Board, Committees and Executive Management Team on corporate governance matters. The role holder also acts as our Anti-Fraud Coordinator.

The Head of Governance is the key point of contact for our Internal Audit partner and must have sound knowledge and proven experience of risk-based audits and risk management frameworks.

The purpose of this role is to ensure Cobalt Housing continues to operate in a compliant manner through the setting, monitoring and embedding of the governance framework in line with our agreed Corporate Plan, business strategies, legislation, codes of practice and regulatory requirements. This includes providing advice on a variety of regulatory and legal matters, including information governance.

At Cobalt, it’s important that we continually engage with our customers, so the ability to quickly build relationships with colleagues at all levels and communicate effectively is essential, and we are looking for a team player who can hit the ground running. You should possess Legal or Company Secretarial qualifications, or equivalent experience and significant management experience within a senior governance role.
