**Part Time Community Tutor**

Permanent, Part Time

Up to £28,432 per annum, pro rata

Location: Clacton on Sea

Working Style: Anywhere worker

**Please note that this position is being offered as part time (sessional). Hours will be variable according to curriculum needs and may include evenings or weekends. We would expect the position to initially cover 5 - 10 hours per week but with opportunities to expand once established.**

ACL Essex is the largest provider of adult education in the county. Our aim is to provide learners with as many ways to flourish as possible, to be part of local communities across Essex, to make a difference to businesses and to residents to enable them to make a difference for themselves and to the places in which they live.

We are looking for passionate individuals to teach within our Multiply team. The role will be based at ACL Clacton. The tutor will be required to design, plan, deliver and evaluate high quality learning opportunities and experiences for learners in response to their identified needs and may be required to take part in community engagement activities.

Multiply is a new government
- funded programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills.

- Enable learners to share responsibility for their own learning and assessment, setting goals that stretch and challenge
- Maintain and update your teaching / training expertise, vocational competence and digital skills
- Contribute to organisational development and quality improvement through collaboration with others
- To initially assess learners’ starting points and monitor their progress, set challenging tasks and objectives, and build on and extend learning for all learners.
- To support learners to develop personal, social and employability skills in order for them to progress into further learning or jobs that meet local and national needs.

**The Experience You Will Bring**
- Qualified to level 3
- Teaching / training experience
- Nationally recognised teaching qualification (or be prepared to work towards achieving qualifications)
- Competent user of ICT
- Ability to inspire, motivate and raise aspirations of learners through your enthusiasm and knowledge
- Good understanding of social and cultural diversity, equality of opportunities and inclusion and safeguarding
- Minimum of Level 2 in English and maths

**Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.**
