A large school with over 200 staff and 1,700 students are seeking Teaching Assistants to join their team.They have the resources to provide a wealth of opportunities: a sports centre and 4G sports pitches; a fully equipped Drama studio, a large library,specialised English and Maths blocks, 12 science labs and specialist design, technology, computing and media rooms.
You will be working 25.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year and will receive a salary of £11,342 - £12,277.
- As a Teaching Assistant you will:
- Work as part of the Special Educational Needs Department, supporting the effective operation of the SEND provision on a day to day basis in school.
- Act as a positive role model embodying the school’s values of Purposeful, Proud, Respectful, Curious, Supportive and Ambitious.
- Ensure the school and departmental vision is actively implemented (along with all relevant school policies and procedures) working with the SEND Lead Practitioner.
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.
- Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- communicate effectively with parents with regard to students’ needs and well-being.
- develop effective professional relationships with colleagues, knowing how and when to draw on advice and specialist support.
- Demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant with the following:
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills (minimum of grade C at GCSE or equivalent) in both English Language and Maths.
- Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in working relationship with young students and in forming effective professional relationships.
- Ability to show a personal commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and rights of young people.
- Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students and empathise with their need.
You will be joining an established 11 - 18 single academy trust with a good reputation (Ofsted ‘Good’ rating 2016), wide catchment, and a strong presence in our community. The school is consistently oversubscribed with a PAN of 300, and most of our studentschoose to stay with us for their post-16 study.
