Patient Pathway Co-ordinator**

This role will largely involve the monitoring and validation of patient pathways from referral to treatment. The post holder will work closely with Personal Medical Secretaries and staff at other hospitals in order to provide excellent and timely patient care through efficient administrative processes in line with government guidelines around the RTT standard and cancer treatment, therefore knowledge of and experience of having worked with these targets is essential. This will be a demanding but very rewarding post, dealing with patients, staff and the public and requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a friendly and approachable manner. A flexible and pro-active approach is also essential for this post.

You must also be able to demonstrate effective organisational and time management skills. A sound general education including GCSE English is essential, as are experience of general health care administration functionality and knowledge of IT systems/software packages. You will be responsible for administrative duties and accurately maintaining electronic information therefore sound IT skills is an essential part of the role. Knowledge of medical terminology/medical administration is desirable.

Applicants must also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines in conjunction with Trust targets and standards. Past medical secretarial experience within the NHS would therefore also be an advantage.
