**£30,000-35,000 per annum DOE**
Jackson Hogg Supply Chain division are working in close partnership with a pre-clinical drug development business in Newcastle city centre on the appointment of a Procurement Specialist to join their small, close-knit team.
This is a full-time and permanent role and can offer up to £35,000 per annum DOE.
1-2 days working from home can be accommodated once training is complete. Other benefits include: 25 days holiday plus bank hols, company bonus scheme, annual pay reviews, social activities, private healthcare insurance, company phone and laptop.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who can take ownership of the Procurement process and drive for optimal performance using innovative ideas and methods.
**The Role**
- Responsible for monthly inventory of all equipment stock
- Track usage data and deliver forecasts/ budgets
- Researching and negotiating with external suppliers to build strong relationships to ensure all purchases are within budget and of the required quality
- Provide forecasts to finance for spend on a quarterly basis based on trend and business volume
- Ensure that purchases are cost-efficient and of high-quality
- Create POs for purchase and pay invoices on optimised due term dates.
- Improve business performance by identifying and championing new technology for FF operations
- Managing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the organisation
- Conduct interviews with potential vendors, negotiating favourable supplier agreements and manage supplier and vendor contracts
- Liaising with key company employees on a quarterly basis to determine their product and service needs
- Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management
- Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results
- Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business
- Creating policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation
- Track shipment from suppliers to optimise delivery times along with import regulations.
**The Person/Experience**
- Previous experience in a procurement role
- Strong Financial and numerical skills
- High-level of attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload to deliver all required targets
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional talent in negotiating and networking
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to create and foster strong supplier relationships
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Inventory knowledge
- Person needs to have high integrity, be innovative, work well within a team and be respectful of others
