Step 2 Lead Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist and/or CBT therapist/PWP who is BABCP accredited/registered and has significant experience of working within an IAPT service to join our team TalkingSpace Plus in Oxfordshire. We are a well-established team with a great reputation for providing a full range of high-quality evidence-based treatments and interventions for patients with anxiety/depression, with and without long-term physical health conditions. If you are an experienced therapist with a supervision qualification looking to progress to a leadership position, this could be the role for you.

We are looking for a team leader who will work alongside other team leaders/ locality leads to ensure the effective running of the service, you will be supported by the deputy clinical lead. You will hold a clinical caseload providing individual and group treatments. You will provide clinical and case management supervision as well as supervision of supervision and line management. You will be supported to monitor performance at both an individual clinical level and service level. You will lead on an agreed aspects of service delivery, audit, research and/or clinical governance.

Ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality psychological therapy service to adults and older adults with common mental health disorders and their carers for Step 2, including overseeing team performance within the Oxfordshire TalkingSpace Plus Service.
- Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy for a caseload of people with common mental health disorders with or without long term physical health problems.
- Clinically supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy, including clinical skills provided by trainee, qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and as appropriate step 3 trainee and qualified clinicians
- Contribute to the delivery of duty supervision to all staff working in the service.

The Trust hosts the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research and the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. TalkingSpace Plus is actively involved in research, and the service benefits from being a member of the Oxford Academic Health Science Network - Anxiety and Depression Network led by Professor David Clark.

As Step 2 Team Leader, provide leadership and management supervision for clinical staff working with people with common mental health disorders across the service; contribute to the development and maintenance of systems for the clinical and professional supervision and support of both trainee and qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs), including systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, and the identification of CPD needs across the service as delegated be the Clinical & Professional Lead and Head of IAPT Oxfordshire.
Oversee As delegated oversee the case management supervision and clinical skills supervision for PWPs. and as appropriate step 3 trainee and qualified clinicians.
Oversee the organisation and delivery of clinical activity at step 2 (including courses, online therapy and telephone or face to face clinics), liaise with PWP courses, support PWP trainees through the Oxford Health PWP apprenticeship and/or University of Reading courses; maintain and enhance the wellbeing of step 2 practitioners and step 3 staff therapists as appropriate.
Contribute to service development and delivery across the service with special focus on the Step 2 components of the service.
Support the Clinical Lead and Operational Manager(s) in the operational delivery of the step 2 service ensuring it meets national guidance and local key performance indicators such as treatment timescales.
Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service. To utilise research skills, as a major requirement of the job, for audit, policy and service development and research. To propose and implement policy changes which may impact on other professionals within the area served by the Service.
