**Business Contribution**:
Support the production manager & extended team in the execution of the operational activities within the facility. Ensuring on-time delivery of product to the required quality, cost, and safety standards. Help establish a close working relationship with all site employees to promote a strong team environment all working to the same goals.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead & motivate the production workforce on the daily & weekly objectives by effectively communicating priorities & updates to issues affecting live builds. Run the morning production meeting setting the tone for the day/week ahead.
- Act as the conduit between the production team and operations teams ensuring issues affecting quality, cost & delivery are communicated & escalated where required
- Support the sites continuous improvement plan through improvement projects, daily/weekly 5S huddles & the sites observation tool
- Manage the production calibration/training system ensuring that all assets are within calibration & associated training for personnel is updated and maintained
- Liaise with on-site contractors ensuring permits are completed and on-site team are aware of contractor movements & scope of work
- Lead facility maintenance on site ensuring issues raised are adequately dealt with in a timely manner
- Promote & encourage the use of various data capturing tools to strengthen our position when presenting data to senior leadership (OSHENS, MES, Qualytize etc.)
- Attend & participate in monthly health & safety committee meetings ensuring a safety first & stop-work culture is adopted by everyone on site
- Support custom projects on an adhoc basis ensuring regular progress reports are sent & issues are raised as they appear, this will involve communicating with multiple functions (Operations, Engineering, Quality etc.)
- Continually drive the standard in production from goods inward to goods outward to be the best it can possibly be by challenging the status quo & involving the team in improvement initiatives
- When required openly discuss development opportunities for the members of the team, how can we improve, do things differently, be more efficient.
- Perform annual performance reviews with direct reports ensuring that throughout the year expectations are clear and performance to goals is tracked
- Build product knowledge by actively supporting root-cause-investigations and completing builds to plan when required
- Manage direct reports holiday & absence ensuring the production plan can be executed to required timescales
- Support the production manager in ensuring key skills are transferred around the team so that in the event of holidays & absence bottlenecks do not appear
- Where required provide Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to the senior leadership team
- At all times ensure the performance of the team is in keeping with the overall vision of the site (behavior, output & deliverables)
