Cover Manager - Brighton

At Engage Education Services, we’ve specialised in recruiting education staff for over a decade. We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic Cover manager to work full-time at a fantastic school in the Brighton area.

**About the role** You will be responsible for and organise cover for absent staff, ensuring lessons are covered on a daily basis and to lead our team of cover staff. You will receive training provided by the school and Engage Education and will be a part of a close and dynamicteam. This role has very little planning and marking. This is a good school that is supported by its local community and strives to ensure all students reach their academic and personal potential. Key responsibilities include:

- To operate, manage and organise cover on a daily basis to ensure lessons are covered for absent teachers as required, liaising with members of the leadership team with responsibility for cover on a regular basis.
- To be responsible for the line management of the Cover Supervisor team.
- To distribute work that has been set by teachers to cover supervisors.
- To cover lessons when required operating within the framework of the cover supervisor job description.
- To maintain regular communications with the HR Officer in respect of staff absence to ensure that staff absence reporting is accurate.
- To be responsible for the signing in and ID checks for all external supply, arranging SIMS and network.
- access where appropriate, and to ensure that time sheets are assessed, authorised and submitted for payment.
- To monitor and review supply costs and provide termly expenditure reports ensuring best value.
- To assist with the organisation and administration of some whole school events and to liaise with trip leaders and the Educational Visits Coordinator to ensure staffing and first aid cover is within trip regulations.
- To be responsible for promoting your own professional development through training.
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks at the request of the headteacher.
