**About the Role**
**Base Location**: Keadby Power Station, Scunthorpe
**Salary**: £44,100 - £66,100 + Car / Car Allowance + Performance-Related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.
**Working Pattern**: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
Due to a period of growth, SSE Thermal Large Capital Projects (LCP) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Advisor to join the LCP SHE team in the Development & Construction business.
This role is central to providing proactive and pragmatic SHE advice and guidance to the LCP teams throughout the business unit, helping to ensure LCP address business SHE risk by promoting a practical understanding across all SHE processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a trusted partner both internally within the Thermal LCP SHE team and across the Thermal business keeping people safe as projects are developed, delivered, operated and decommissioned.
- Provide SHE related advice and support to the business and for ensuring projects delivered within their remit reduce SHE risk and improve governance.
- Actively promote and carry out regular site SHE audits and inspections and work closely with contractors to implement SHE improvement initiatives.
- Assist on the development and implementation of arrangements in the Thermal SHE management system, ensuring that the associated processes/ documentation is effective, accurate, complete, consistent, unambiguous, well-structured and concise.
**What do I need?**
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety such as NEBOSH Diploma/equivalent.
- Chartered member of IOSH or equivalent organisation with continuing professional development (or desire to work towards).
- Experience working in a SHE environment within the Power, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas or another similar industry with sound knowledge of SHE management systems, policies and strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills to liaise with all levels of SSE staff and contractors.
- Experience with behavioural safety programmes involving multi-disciplinary project teams with a multi-cultural workforce.
