To ensure that the day to day running of the kitchen is carried out in line with the Company’s operating procedures and in accordance with all legal requirements.

To undertake general preparation of food - i.e. peeling and chopping of vegetables and preparing for service.

To ensure that in the preparation and presentation of food, the highest standards are maintained at all times.

To set up and breakdown the Kitchen as per your Kitchen training.

To clean the kitchen areas such as floors, cookers and kitchen equipment as per the cleaning rotas.

To wash and dry kitchen pots and utensils and ensure there proper storage.

To assist in stocktaking and storage of stock including checking deliveries against invoices.

To assist in the induction, training and development of other Kitchen Assistants in line with the Company procedures and statutory requirements when required.

To ensure that there a consistently high standard of food hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness maintained in order to conform to Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH legislation in accordance with Company policy and best practice within the catering industry.

To ensure all equipment is maintained and cleaned correctly.

To ensure that all equipment is used safely and correctly. Any problems are to be reported to the Head Chef immediately.

To ensure all working environments are kept in a clean, safe and tidy condition.

To keep the Head Chef updated of any problems within the kitchen including staffing issues, health and safety, equipment or any other concerns which would disrupt the day to day running of the kitchen.

To work towards and ensure a positive relationship exists between front of house staff and the kitchen.

To maintain the highest standards of personal cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
