**Head of Education**

The core purpose of the Head of Education (Head) is to provide professional leadership and management to the education team within the school. To provide and promote a secure foundation from which to achieve high standards in all areas of the school’s work.To ensure high quality education by effectively managing teaching and learning and using personalised learning to realise the potential of all children. To establish a culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all pupils. To be oneof the schools Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO’s) with specific responsibility for education.

**Role Requirements**
- Degree level educated, preferably within a similar field
- Qualified Teacher/hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- 3 years relevant experience of management within the education sector
- Understanding of how to create and implement a QIP and SAR
- Managing budgets and understanding of finance management
- Experience of ensuring compliance with policies & procedures and assuring consistency of approach to service delivery
- Understanding of assessing vocational and academic achievement
- Working with young people with special educational needs
- Collaborative working with other partners
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proactive, self-motivated, can-do attitude
- Keeping records of quality-based reports
- An eye for detail and results driven
- Change management
- Safeguarding Lead training
- An enthusiastic and motivational person who leads from the front, showing dedication to the lives of our young people.
- You will have experience of working with children with SEMH difficulties, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and will be a successful leader of whole school change management.
- You will have a good understanding of School Improvement Planning and implementation, experience of partnership working with parents, governors/external school improvement partners and the wider community including external agencies and be successful andvaried teaching experience in appropriate phase(s).

Our client is a registered charity and approved Section 41 Post-16 Specialist Education Provider for young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), aged 16-25 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Their study programmes are individualised tothe needs of each learner to prepare them for education at the next level or for employment. All learners have access to regular one-to-ones for emotional and wellbeing support, alongside our Enrichment Programme and Careers Support.
