**Teaching Assistant Required for Primary School in Richmond**

**About the role**:
At Engage Education, we’ve specialised in recruiting teaching assistants for over a decade, so we know a bit about finding the ideal school for you. We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to work full time at a fantastic primary school in Richmond.

Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality teaching assistants to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.

**Main Areas of Responsibility**

**Support for Students**
- Assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students’ learning
- Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
- Develop and implement IEPs
- Support students consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs

**Support for Teachers**
- Within an agreed system of supervision and within a predetermined lesson framework, teach small groups or whole groups.
- Provide detailed verbal and written feedback on lesson content, student responses to learning activities and student behaviour, to teachers and students.
- Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources
- Record progress and achievement in lessons/activities systematically and provide evidence of range and level of progress and attainment.
- Supporting the role of parents in students’ learning and contributing to/lead meetings with parents to provide constructive feedback on student progress/achievement etc.
- Administer and assess/mark tests and invigilate exams/tests.

**Support for the Curriculum**
- Deliver local and national learning strategies e.g. literacy, numeracy, primary, early years and make effective use of opportunities provided by other learning activities to support the development of students’ skills.
- Select and prepare resources necessary to lead learning activities, taking account of students’ interests and language and cultural backgrounds.
- Advise on appropriate deployment and use of specialist aid/resources/equipment.

**The ideal applicant will have**:

- Excellent numeracy/literacy skills - equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths
- Hold relevant qualifications at A level or equivalent to at least NQF Level 3
- Evidence of specialism in specific curriculum areas or areas of particular learning difficulty
- Some experience of working with primary children or in a school
- A real passion for education and improving the attainment of pupils
- Bags of creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

- teaching assistant: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- DBS on the update service (preferred)
