Cathays Youth and Community Project (CCYCP) are looking for a part-time Community Support Worker to join the Community Support team and provide 'one to one' and 'two to one' support sessions, working with young people with additional learning needs in the community. _**THE APPLICANT MUST HAVE A FULL UK DRIVER LICENCE AND ACCESS TO A VEHICLE**_._
- The role will require the applicant to provide person centred sessions, these sessions start at either the service users home, Cathays Youth and Community Centre or collecting the service user from school and then going out on trips, facilitating the needs of the service user and in some cases providing personal care whilst on session. The job may require the applicant to work any time between 10:00am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday and 10:00am and 5:00pm on Weekends. The young people we provide community support sessions for have a wide range of additional learning needs (ALNs) so it is important that the applicant can think on their toes to tailor the session to the individual service user to make the time together as enjoyable as possible._
- Some examples of a typical sessions are; supporting a service user in travelling on public transport into town to go for a coffee and go shopping, taking them to the cinema and supporting them in developing their independance through helping manage their money and making use of public transport, accessing the gym, going swimming or simply coming to our Community Centre to hang out and play video games and watch films._

- _Full UK Drivers License and access to car_
- _Ability to deliver a range of activities_
- _Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team_
- _Willingness to be flexible with working hours and duties_
- **Desirable Criteria**:

- _Welsh (written and verbal)_
- _Experience with the LGBTQ+ community_
- _Experience of working with young people with additional needs_
- _Possession of an up-to-date first aid certificate_
- _Willingness to access further training and developmental opportunities_

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract

**Salary**: £10.36-£10.60 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All members of staff are to wear relevant PPE whilst on sessions supporting service users in the community.
