Assistant Design Manager

Costain are recruiting for **Assistant Design Managers** to join our framework with the Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). **About the Project** Anglian Water has created a new delivery enterprise - the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. "SPA" is creating hundreds of kilometres of new, interconnecting pipelines to help combat the impact of climate change and keep fresh, clean water flowing across the Anglian Water region. The new network is one of the largest infrastructure projects for a generation and is a complex and challenging major infrastructure project. **Key Responsibilities** Take ownership to deliver design and associated activities in your section of the SPA programme of works Understand the importance of design interactions from solutions, production and delivery Within your immediate team lead both the production and detailed design elements of either Civils pipelines, pump stations or break tank design. Work closely with team members to ensure project requirements are met Embrace digital transformation throughout design, including the creation of a Digital Twin Involvement in the interfaces with our GI, Utilities and Environmental teams Liaison with Temporary Works Design Develop commercial abilities in managing estimates, targets and forecasts for the design work Mentoring graduate engineers in developing technical knowledge and understanding **About You** Previous experience working with Design Leads, Supply Chain Designers, Offshore Designers, Planners and Delivery Teams Experienced in the development of technical solutions from concept selection through design development Good knowledge of CAD, BIM and GIS environment Excellent communicator with he ability to communicate good information flow, e.g. via technical queries etc Previous management experience, able to guide teams to produce designs which minimise safety risks in construction Ability to challenge the norm Ability to manage programme delivery through the use of Touchplan and input into P6 **About Costain** Costain helps to improve people's lives with integrated, leading edge, smart infrastructure solutions across the UK's energy, water, transportation and defence markets.
