**Job Summary**
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as a Trainee Planner, on a permanent, full-time basis. Working alongside the Commercial and Site management teams you will gain experience and training in the Planning of construction works on a wide variety of Projects.
**Person Profile**
- Must hold a full, valid, UK Driving Licence as frequent travel to site will be required.
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C / Level 4 or Functional Skills Level 2.
- Flexible and willing to spend time in other Offices and on Site.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well both within a team and also independently.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and reliable with strong work ethics.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT Skills - a good understanding of Microsoft Office is essential for this role.
**With Full Training, Support and Guidance, the Duties and Responsibilities will be**:
- Support the Project and Planning team to help drive Projects, through building effective Project Schedules and understanding the linkage between activities.
- Maintain the Project Schedule in accordance with planning and control processes, and contractual requirements.
- Facilitate the acceptance of the Project Plan by making sure the Plan embraces the full Project Work Scope and is in line with the PMO control standard and NEC 3 or 4 Contract requirements.
- Monitor, control and analyse Project programmes.
- Produce reports to confirm the Programme or Project cost and schedule performance.
- Carry out Critical Path and Variance analysis and drive corrective actions to help maintain Plans, and to deliver on time.
- Assist in the resource loading of Programmes when required.
- Identify the impacts of change events and impact on the Schedule baseline.
- Ensure the reasons for, and the factors influencing, each change to the Project baseline Plan and the implications of such change are understood and communicated with the wider Project Team.
- Develop key relationships with both internal and external colleagues, clients and customers.
- Attend collaborative Planning and Production Control meetings to help drive efficiency.
