Northallerton North, United Kingdom English Heritage Full time

Would you like to use your passion and creativity to nurture one of the country's most prestigious gardens and inspire visitors from across the world? Then join us as Senior Gardener at Mount Grace Priory. Mount Grace Priory, Saddle Bridge, brimming with historic character and exciting gardening opportunities, offers a remarkable setting in which to take the next step in your career.

Working closely with our Head Gardener and Site Manager, you'll be an essential part of our Garden team. The Garden at Mount Grace Priory has returned to its Arts and Crafts style heyday by the major garden designer Chris Beardshaw.
By joining our team you will be playing a vital role in ensuring that all work carried out in our gardens by our fantastic teams of gardeners and volunteers is to the highest of standards. And you'll find imaginative ways of bringing to life the stories that our gardens tell, helping visitors of all ages to make new discoveries.

We're looking for someone with high-quality garden experience and the specialist skills required for this particular site; excellent plant knowledge and horticultural skills; and a talent for leadership. You'll know how to ensure visitors enjoy their day out - from sharing your gardening knowledge, to ensuring their health and safety. Being able to ensure smooth running of weekly job rotas and input into the seasonal work plans are also a must for this busy and dynamic role.

Everyone is welcome at English Heritage and we are always looking for people who reflect the diversity of the country today, to help us make it more relevant to the diversity of the people, communities and places we serve. From remote sites to inner city monuments, from regional teams to our Head Office, the diversity of our teams is critical to making sure our heritage is inclusive, exciting and accessible.

We continually look for new ways to promote the past in a way that is inclusive to all and that celebrates the cultural diversity of England's heritage. By joining English Heritage, you will be part of a charity that is already on an exciting journey to tell everyone's story.

You'll find it's a workplace like no other - taking you behind the scenes of these extraordinary sites and supporting you to share your ideas, inspire others and make a difference.

By joining us, you'll enjoy the rewards of a great team environment in inspiring locations, helping to make our site a wonderful place to visit. You'll also be joining our charity, which through our 400+ historic monuments, buildings and sites, brings the story of England to life for over 10 million visitors each year.
