Product Assistant

The purpose of this role is to support the Global Product Development Team to deliver the global new product strategy & 3-year NPD plans for Holland & Barrett's own brand food in line with the business and category strategy.

At present we are undergoing total business transformation and Holland & Barrett Own label development is a key element to this. The vision for the business is to become the trusted partner for over 100 million people globally, to achieve their personal health and wellness goals and add quality years to life.

You will support the Head of Product Development and individual product developers in key administrative and practical tasks to support the development of products through the coordination of key activities throughout the stage and gate process which facilitates landing successful NPD.
- The Role
- Supports Product Developers and Programme Managers with key administrative tasks to support the team in driving and delivering against the NPD calendar including product analysis, presentation writing and logs to ensure that product stay on track within the critical path process.
- Coordinates and analyses information from key business inputs (range plans, marketing campaigns, customer insights, trading activity)
- Facilitate and lead key internal benchmarking session for the team to stay up to date with all retail launches.
- Facilitate supplier meetings
- Request and track the sampling process from concept to gold seal sample
- Carry out market research and competitor research to inform product development strategy.
- Coordinate with the product developers all tastings both internally and externally
- Support on all product showcases coordinating samples and any necessary supporting documentation,
- Continually investigate and propose new product opportunities within the relevant branded market to ensure sales are optimised and brand portfolio is continuously reviewed.
- Becoming a product expert in your product areas, keeping up to date with the latest global trends and understanding the supply base and manufacturing processes for all products.
- Liaise cross functionally on all product information and samples to ensure we maximise every NPD launch including marketing, digital, social and PR.
- The Person

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or someone with 1-2 years industry experience to kickstart their career in a fast paced retail environment offering excellent career progression
- Excellent PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
- Experience supporting a team or hands on work experience
- Experience in organising information, or physical events helpful.
- Passionate about product and the retail market
- Fantastic communication & organisational skills
- Comfortable with juggling multiple timelines and working in a highly agile environment
- A strong team player, adept at building effective relationships and stakeholder management.
- Highly accountable and great at problem solving.
