**What you’ll be doing**:
- You’ll be leading innovation project activities and making significant technical contributions to others.
- You’ll organise, implement, and monitor research and development activities to ensure their smooth operation and successful completion.
- You’ll run and evaluate the performance of pilot plant rigs and technical trials (including lab experiments) and analyse and interpret the associated technical data.
- You’ll evaluate data and information to produce sound results, conclusions, and recommendations to inform business strategy.
- You’ll produce high-quality technical output documents relating to the projects for use internally within Research, Development & Innovation and for business managers and external communication.
- You’ll participate in and present research outputs in internal and external meetings with customers and stakeholders for building awareness of research and development activities.
- You’ll provide support and mentoring to junior technical staff.
- You’ll support the management of the Research, Development & Innovation programme.
**What you should bring to the role**:
- Have a degree or equivalent in a science or engineering discipline.
- Have practical skills relevant to the operation and maintenance of pilot plants and be prepared to undertake fieldwork on operational wastewater treatment sites.
- Have excellent communication skills to engage with key stakeholders across the business and externally. You will be able to work well both in a team and independently.
- Be IT competent.
- Be able to design, operate and analyse the performance of pilot-scale wastewater processes, especially anaerobic systems.
- Have a full UK driving licence.
- Have the right to work in the UK.

You’ll be responsible for running anaerobic wastewater treatment pilot plants and undertaking associated performance analyses. You will work with technical and programme managers to ensure the smooth running of the project,and be responsible for communicating results to our stakeholders, in addition to resource planning, health & safety compliance, and budget control.
