We are looking for a **Payroll Controller** who will take on responsibility for tracking and controlling the payroll budget. They will be expected to work with HR colleagues, Commercial Controllers and Directors to keep track of roles and rates vs our expected budgets, to ensure that we are in line with our expectations.
The role would suit a part qualified accountant who has good forecast and planning experience, with the ability to report and explain variances to various levels of the organisation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepares and reports performance against the payroll budget, reporting variances by month and being able to forecast remainder of the year.
- Responsible for the accuracy for the payroll budget.
- Tracks and reports headcount movements on a regular basis.
- Working closely with HR Department and Bonus and Commissions team to ensure that the base data is accurate and up to date.
- Run regular meetings with Business Unit or vertical Directors to discuss payroll performance, future needs and expectations from the business.
- Track vendor funded heads, the income and the cost associated with the heads.
- Improve and streamline the payroll reporting process, ensuring that heads are reported in the right place and ensuring all changes are reflected in a timely fashion.
**Skills**
- Experience of SAP and/or Workday are desirable but not essential
- This role involves managing lots of data and manipulating the data using spreadsheets - intermediate/advanced excel skills are essential
- Working to deadlines to ensure monthly reporting is on time
- Close attention to detail as accuracy is very important

**Salary**: £50,000.00 per year
