Dance Instructor

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated dance teacher to join our team at Flame Dance Studios. This role offers the opportunity to work with children aged 18 months to teens, across a variety of dance styles. Whether you’re confident teaching multiple styles or specialise in a particular discipline, we are excited to find the right person to complement our team and values.
- It is highly desirable that applicants speak Welsh, as our classes for under 6s are delivered bilingually._
**Responsibilities**
- Deliver engaging and imaginative dance lessons for children, from our parent-and-child _Ti a Fi_ classes (18 months) through to our teen groups.
- Create a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe and confident to express themselves.
- Prepare students for ISTD exams in ballet and/or modern and tap, ensuring they achieve strong technical foundations and confidence in performance.
- Support students in preparing for performances, developing both technique and stage presence.
- Use playful and age-appropriate teaching methods to inspire joy in learning and movement.
- Celebrate the unique progress and accomplishments of every child, with a focus on personal development.
- Ensure lessons are safe, structured, inclusive, and engaging.
- Collaborate with our teaching team to provide a cohesive and positive learning experience.
- Maintain open and supportive communication with parents through our admin team, sharing updates on their child’s progress.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Child-Centred Approach: A deep understanding of children’s developmental needs and how to support their confidence and enjoyment through dance.
- Communication: Friendly and clear communication with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Classroom Management: Ability to manage and engage children across age groups in a fun yet structured way.
- Dance Technique: Strong technical ability in at least one of the following: Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz or Commercial.
- Adaptability: Confidence teaching various age groups, with flexibility in your teaching style to suit different learners.
- Inclusivity: A commitment to fairness, diversity, and ensuring all children feel seen, valued, and supported.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Recognised dance teaching qualification (e.g., ISTD DDE or equivalent) in your area of specialism preferred.
- Previous experience teaching children is essential.
- Experience teaching parent-and-child or under 3s classes is highly desirable.
- Welsh language skills are strongly preferred.
- DBS check and First Aid training will be arranged upon appointment if not already held.
**Schedule & Availability**
- Availability for evening and Sunday classes is essential.
- Opportunities may also arise to cover holiday camps or holiday intensives.
- We are open to both part-time and full-time applicants (for our available hours) depending on availability and skillset.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: From £19.21 per hour
Expected hours: 5.5 - 9.5 per week
