Pertemps Managed Solutions has been engaged by an world renowned FMCG business with a large presence in the UK, to find the latest addition to the team, a Packaging Engineer. The purpose of the job is to deliver new packaging design and development projects,from concept through to implementation in our factory network and beyond.
2 Days onsite in Slough, 3 days WFH- £23.35 Per Hour - 9 Month Contract
**Responsibilities:**:

- Owns the technical packaging design and development for a variety of projects (of increasing complexity) across different product categories to support Growth and Sustainability.
- Creates packaging prototypes and ensures successful line trials internally and with external partners, making sure the relevant documentation is produced and results are accurately recorded
- Creates packaging designs and specifications that deliver the desirable KQA’s via robust risk management and the delivery of shopper, customer and supply chain requirements
- Works with cross-functional teams, employing ‘design thinking’ to deliver Desirable, Viable, Feasible and Sustainable innovation, leading projects of different levels of complexity at the same time,
- Works with Global Design, Product Development and Factory Innovation teams in building and delivering the innovation pipelines
- Proactively manages Intellectual Property risks & opportunities
- Is a technical expert and contact Regionally or Globally for packaging facilitating pack learnings across brands/markets.
- Leads team activities across engagement and capability building.

**Requirements:**:

- Essential: Degree level qualification in a relevant technical discipline (Packaging, Engineering, Material Sciences, Product Design etc); OR relevant prior technical experience; Packaging diploma/degree desirable but not essential
- Essential: Demonstrated knowledge of packaging materials, including flexibles, rigid plastic, cartons, and cases
- Essential: Understanding of packaging sciences, packaging development, packaging legislation, food processing and production.
- Essential: Good command of the English language
- Essential: Demonstrable Experience in leading and managing projects in an FMCG environment, demonstrating project management skills including risk management, prioritization and managing a diverse group of stakeholders both in demand and supply
- Essential: Experience in working with outside vendors to deliver project requirements
- Desirable: Collaboration skills with different cultures
- Desirable: Experience working in Food innovation
- Desirable: Experience working within Flexible teams, Agile ways of working, and Design Thinking approaches
- Desirable: Experience working with Universities and Research companies
