Professional Support Lawyer - Information Law (data protection)

LexisPSL is looking for a data protection and information law lawyer to produce and maintain core practice notes, precedents, news and industry guidance for our market leading online product.

**Responsibilities**:
To further develop and maintain a market-leading practical guidance offering for the LexisPSL product. The role will involve working with members of other LexisPSL practice areas, the wider LexisNexis business and external lawyers to ensure that the LexisPSL content is high quality and tailored to the needs of our customers.
- Delivering core practical guidance content such as practice notes, precedents and Q&As
- Developing new content and maintaining existing content to a high standard
- Monitoring information sources to identify and report on relevant news and updates regarding legal developments
- Working closely with the current awareness team to produce a leading news offering
- Contributing ideas for the development of technical solutions with our product teams
- Delivering training to the LexisPSL team on technical legal issues and developments
- Forging external relationships with law firms and/or authors to promote contribution to LexisPSL
- Meeting with customers to receive and respond to feedback and to keep up to date with their needs
- Engaging with internal sales during engagements with customers

Person Specification:

- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts, ideally with particular experience of commercial technology work (such a cloud computing, mobile apps, IT services, artificial intelligence, databases and/or others)
- Experience of drafting documents on substantive compliance issues and the practical implementation thereof, updates on key developments and/or other legal know-how
- Excellent research, organisation and planning skills, and a strong drive and ability to meet challenging objectives and deliverables
- Ability to work effectively and co-operatively with others, adopting a can-do attitude
- A proactive approach, taking responsibility for continually developing and expanding areas of expertise, skills and knowledge
- Previous experience advising on ePrivacy, the network and information systems regulations (NIS) and other cybersecurity laws is particularly advantageous
