Summary of job purpose

The role of the maintenance is to safely and effectively undertake general maintenance duties and DIY duties throughout the home, maintaining standards as dictated by policies, procedures and legislation. The role of maintenance will sometimes include the use of your own vehicle to travel to wholesalers, other care settings etc so business use would need to be added to insurance and a copy of the insurance certificate will need to be kept on file.

Primary Duties

1. To ensure fire safety checks are completed as required.

2. To check water temperatures on a monthly basis including legionella checks when required.

3. To maintain the equipment and mobility aids within the home ensuring they are fit for purpose.

4. Decorating within the home when required with attention to detail.

5. To report and hazards, actual or potential, to the management.

6. To keep residents rooms in a good state of repair.

7. To accurately complete charts and records.

8. Check maintenance book daily and carry out all reasonable instructions from senior staff, promptly and effectively.

9. To keep an inventory of all items kept within the home and stock balance of items.

10. To monitor and adapt the working routine to suit changing needs.

11. To attend meetings with the management staff.

12. To ensure that all areas of the home are well lit, replacing light bulbs when required.

13. To check the emergency lighting on a regular basis arranging replacements when needed.

14. Ensure that all safety certificates are in date and renewed when expired. Such as Gas safety, PAT testing, fixed electrical wire testing.

15. To assemble furniture upon delivery to the home.

16. To maintain gardens to a high standard.

3. To positively promote Greville House during your duties and in the local community.

4. To participate in regular supervision sessions and attend staff meetings.

5. To attend training sessions both internally and externally related to your job role.

6. To demonstrate respect and consideration to fellow colleagues to maintain good working relations

7. Be aware of, any comply with all the company policies and procedures and relevant

statutory responsibilities including Health and Safety issues which include fire

arrangements, moving and handling, COSHH

8. To adhere to the terms given in the employee handbook

**Job Types**: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-24 per week

**Salary**: From £9.80 per hour
