**Role Summary**:
As an Apprentice Environment and Sustainability Advisor in the utilities construction industry, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that construction projects align with environmental regulations and sustainability goals. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in the development and implementation of environmental management systems, reviewing, and conducting risk and opportunity assessments, site inspections and incident response.

You'll work closely with project managers, engineers, and environmental specialists to minimise the environmental impact of construction activities, while also promoting sustainable practices such as (but not limited to) resource conservation and carbon reduction. This role will provide you with hands-on experience in environmental compliance, sustainable construction techniques, and stakeholder engagement.

**What You Will be Doing**:
Your responsibilities will increase throughout the duration of the apprenticeship programme as your skills and technical knowledge develop. Some of your main responsibilities will include:

- Assisting in the creation and execution of environmental management plans for construction projects in line with ISO14001.
- Supporting the implementation of Browne’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality procedures.
- Collaborating with team to support audits on behalf of the business for ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and other applicable standards.
- Conducting environmental assessments and inspections to identify potential risks, opportunities, and impacts.
- Assist in the collaboration with stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
- Implementing sustainable practices on construction sites, such as recycling programs and energy-efficient measures.
- Monitoring and documenting ESG Key Performance Indicators to track progress towards sustainability goals.
- Participating in environmental training and awareness programs for construction teams and the wider business.
- Assisting with the identification of gaps for improvement.
- Contributing to the development of innovative solutions for environmental challenges in the construction industry.
- Supporting community engagement efforts and addressing environmental concerns raised by local residents and other stakeholders.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

**What You Will be Studying**:
This is a Higher Degree Leve 6 Environment and Sustainability apprenticeship. You will be working towards an Environmental Science BSc (Hons) Degree Apprenticeship over 5 years. We will also support you in gaining professional membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or an alternative equivalent organisation of your choice.

**Entry Requirements**

Our minimum qualification requirement includes obtaining at least 5 GCSEs passes, including grades 6 or above in both Mathematics and English, and 3 A' levels including Geography, Sciences, Geology or Maths. Grade (A* - c)

As our projects are spread across different locations, your work base will be flexible, and travel may be required to various project sites. It’s therefore important to have a positive and flexible approach towards travel.
