**Ballifeary House - Part-time Cook and Kitchen Assistant**
Ballifeary House is a highly regarded, small and friendly, 24-bed residential home for older adults, which belongs to the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Our function and purpose is aimed at providing a non-institutional, Christian atmosphere; one that is caring, relaxed and happy. This atmosphere is homely and respects the individuality, dignity and rights of privacy of each individual and it encourages and enables residents to achieve their potential capacity - physically, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
**Staff do not need to be Christian to work here but must be prepared to uphold the Christian ethos within the Home.**
Providing nutritious and delicious, home-cooked food for our residents is a significant part of the overall service that we provide in the Home and it contributes to the high standard of care that our residents expect and have grown accustomed to over the years.
We are looking for a kitchen assistant to join our team, who would be prepared to work alone, at times, and be prepared to carry out all duties, including washing and clearing up, to provide a light evening meal for residents.
You would also have the option to work our early shift which would involve working alongside the cook and fulfilling general kitchen assistant duties.
Ideally you will have experience of working in a kitchen and will be prepared to carry out a range of general kitchen and dining room duties, including keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy.
If this sounds like something that you could contribute to and that you have the skills to join our small and friendly kitchen team, then we would like to hear from you.
Having cooking experience and/or qualifications would be highly advantageous.
Flexibility to work shifts between 8am and 9pm, including weekend work is essential, along with providing cover during holiday periods.
Benefits include:
- One long weekend off in three
- Paid meal breaks (with option of in-house meals for a small contribution)
- Excellent staff facilities
- Premium rates for overtime
- Uniforms provided with an optional free laundering service
- Commitment to support your continuous professional development with an individualised training and professional development plan
