Full time: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 16:30

Job purpose:
To assist the Creative Arts Co-ordinator in planning, organising, and delivering the creative activities and work placements for all the service users each day. Service users attend 09:00-16:00. Working hours for staff 08:30-16:30 allow for half an hour set up and derig each day and half an hour lunch which will need to be taken on site.

To facilitate a team to provide support and guidance to the artists to development and progress their own individual practice. To provide a needs led service to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, by adopting a person centred approach that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices. To professionally lead the care team during any span of duty, ensuring that a safe, effective, and efficient level of support is maintained to an industry leading standard.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Assist the Creative Arts Coordinator in maintaining, budgeting, and planning creative activities for the service users considering each service users’ needs and requirements.

2. Assisting Senior Management with the daily operation of the organisation.

3. Provide leadership and support for all staff and volunteers, and act as a champion for artists’ safety and dignity.

4. Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to all organisational activity are maintained and effectively used.

5. Run and facilitate creative workshops for our artists to participate in. Support individuals with their own creative practice offering guidance and support. Facilitate activities off site including our volunteer programmes, community workshops, gym and swim sessions and life skills.

6. Highlight and action plan any care concerns that may arise, ensuring and open and effective communication.

7. To ensure that the safe day to day running of the studios.

8. Working with the Care Manager to ensure that there is a safe staff to artists ratio and that any care related concerns with the artists are raised with an appropriate action plan timescale is in place.

9. To work with the Care Manager to highlight any communication needs the artists may have, and work together to implement systems to ensure artists are able to understand and be understood.

10. To liaise with the workshop leaders, freelance staff and volunteers to ensure the studios are tun safely and in a way that all artists are able to engage.

11. Ensure jobs are delegated fairly to ensure the environment is kept clean, safe, and tidy.

12. To ensure that all spaces are kept GDPR safe, and that all documentation is stored in a safe and appropriate manner. Ensuring that all information is stored in a way that is known and is easily accessible when it is required.

13. Ensure that workshop leaders are completing the work schedule four weeks in advance, encouraging them to plan and implement meaningful workshops for the artists, giving them the opportunities to learn new techniques and experience different mediums.

14. Ensure the weekly schedule is sent to families, carers, and artists on a weekly basis.

15. Ensure the studio always has the correct resources for the artists to undertake their day-to-day activities.

16. Taking the project briefs from the Creative Arts-Coordinator and work with workshop leaders to develop ideas and workshops to complete these within the timescale provided.

17. To help foster an environment that promotes both artists and workshop leaders’ creativity, to encourage all groups to come forward with ideas for different projects and workshops.

18. To undertake training to support development in the role, as and when required.

Required to complete role;
- Use of Car during work hours with insurance for business and full driver's license.
- Relevant qualifications in Art to be provided at the interview.
- Willingness to work at other sites when required as well as numerous trips out.
