**Description**:
Head of Data Ethics
- Want to join a multi brand, multi channelled bank to create a new function, align and embed data ethics within this organisation then read on.
Working with people whose passions centre around data and sharing new skills, technologies, and approaches to data management the role will drive the adoption of data ethics standard methodologies and tooling with appropriate checks and monitoring across the business and platform teams.
This will include:
- Developing Data Ethics patterns, methodology and controls that bring align with Group values, partnering and influencing Data, Analytics and Model Ownership leads
- Establishing and scaling fairness and bias testing for models and data usage
- Leading implementation of Group-wide Ethics councils and customer panels
- Driving thought leadership on Data Ethics in partnership with academia, industry bodies and regulators
- Leading development and embedding of Group-wide ethical data framework that ensures data collection, use and disposal are done legally, morally and fairly
- Driving teamwork and partnership with Model Development & Governance teams, Technology, Architecture and Enterprise Data on tooling adoption

The individual will have the following to enable them to be successful:
- Experience of leading and embedding Data Ethics best practice and ethical data use framework in a large scale complex organisation
- Extensive knowledge of analytics, data science life cycles and how to support / demonstrate these capabilities to promote Data Ethics best practices, tooling, checks and monitoring
- Experience with fairness and bias testing in models with a strong understanding of how data is used in business with foresight to identify and mitigate Data Ethics risks
- Experience with establishing or contributing at Ethics councils and leveraging customer panels for insights on making ethical decisions
- Understanding of emerging technology trends driving creative approaches to handling and using data for good
- Experience of setting strategy, securing investment, leading design and technology decisions, through to oversight of implementation and embedding
