The programmes team at UTV makes many hours of content across a number of titles ranging from factual entertainment to comedy and current affairs. We are recognised for the high quality of our output. Our content has been nominated for and won national awards.

**The role**

Are you a reporter who knows what our audience really wants? We are at the heart of popular culture and deliver shows which capture the essence of life in Northern Ireland.

You may be asked to turn your hand to any genre as part of this role but the commissions we’re looking at for the next 12 months could include a format show, an ob doc series, a lifestyle strand along entertainment and events.

High level shooting and editing skills are essential, as is the ability to file for digital and most importantly to integrate successfully into a team of highly motivated programme makers.

While our reporters do appear on screen there will be times when they drop back and work on delivering content which is led entirely by contributors.

You will need to be a self-starter, able to see programmes through from start to finish. Often, you will only be working with a maximum of one other colleague, most likely a self-shooting/editing producer. Our project staffing does change over time but this is certainly the direction of travel for the year ahead.

We also want to ensure we are always reflecting our audiences in the content we make and who makes it.

**Skills you’ll need **(minimum criteria)
- Programme development.
- Ability to work within deadlines.
- Advanced script writing skills.
- Highly capable of leading viewers through a story on camera.
- Adept at providing bespoke digital content.
- Sound editorial judgement and thorough knowledge of legal/compliance issues.
- Strong self-shooting and editing skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
