We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join our Finance team to support us in proactively managing customer accounts to ensure payments are received when due and follow up and deal with customer queries as appropriate. The role is based at our Kirkcaldy site on a full time basis working Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week.

The main duties of the role include:

- Manage customer ledger proactively to ensure payments are received when due and to follow up queries in a timely manner.
- Maintaining contact with clients to ensure invoices are clear for payment and resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices.
- Work within our sales ledger procedures to ensure best practice and that credit insurance policy requirements are met.
- Provide regular commentary on aged debt reports, ensuring that comments are updated on the Finance system
- Accurately and efficiently allocate customer payments and reconciliation
- Process and allocate online banking transactions, cheques, giro receipts and credit/debit card payments and manage the direct debit process.
- Process contras and journals as required
- Setting up of new customer accounts, initiate credit checks and collate information to support the setting of new and existing customer credit limits.
- Release held orders on a timely basis and in accordance with local procedures.

- Previous experience of SAFE and/or D365 accounting software would be advantageous
- An intermediate level of Excel skills and knowledge.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent numeric skills.
- The ability to prioritise and organise your own workload effectively and be able to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate to colleagues at all levels
- Be confident, proactive and willing to take ownership of a variety of tasks.
- Ability to work both under your own initiative as well as being part of a team.
