Trading Underwriter

Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)

As a Trading Underwriter you will review and underwrite existing business cases for negotiation, and supporting allocated cases to achieve business development and retention targets.

**About You**
- Previous Underwriting experience in Construction or Engineering packages
- High level of written and verbal communication skill
- Ability to support less experienced members of the team by mentoring and sharing knowledge

**The Role**

In this role you will be responsible for:

- Managing customer expectations whilst proactively identifying and pursuing up-selling and cross-selling opportunities at the same time as ensuring delivery of brilliant service.
- Contributing to the development of segment and local customer propositions and sales plans, bringing knowledge and insight into the customer base, market and risks, and internal capabilities and capacity, in order to identify opportunities, which will increase penetration of existing customers and/or expand the business mix.
- Reviewing allocated cases and delivering underwriting decisions by following agreed processes at the designated authority level.
- Managing and resolving complaints within own licence level in an appropriate fashion to maintain quality and continuity of relationships.
- Making commitments, requests and offers to Brokers whilst ensuring Service Management and performance targets are met.
- Providing advice and solutions to colleagues to address technical referrals for nonconventional and complex risks while maintaining good internal relationships to support the end-to-end delivery of the customer proposition.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
