Hildenborough and Tonbridge Medical Group (HTMG) have an exciting opening for a Minor Illness Clinician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional to offer high-quality care in a supportive general practice setting.
HTMG is a thriving teaching and dispensing practice in West Kent with c.16500 patients. The team comprises 16 GPs (14 of whom are partners), a practice manager, a well-established nursing and HCA team, clinical pharmacists and a large PCN team including Advanced Musculoskeletal Practitioners, home visiting team, children mental health practitioner and social prescribers, all supported by a fantastic administrative and care navigation team which is led by our very capable managers. We also have GP Registrars and Medical Students from KMMS.
**Main duties of the job**
As a Minor Illness Clinician, you will be responsible for providing immediate care to patients presenting with a range of minor illnesses. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and timely care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with minor illnesses such as colds, flu, rashes, infections, and musculoskeletal complaints.
- Prescribing treatments, medications, and providing appropriate advice on self-care.
- Offering patients health promotion advice and education to prevent illness and manage chronic conditions.
- Referring patients to other healthcare professionals or services when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with practice policies and regulatory standards.
