Arts Support Worker
**The job itself**:
East Riding Arts deliver events across the East Riding, with dance groups in Withernsea, Beverley and Bridlington, large concerts, dance performances, circus performances, theatre shows and more. We work with the local groups, schools and professional artists to put inspiring, high quality events on in local communities. We are looking for people with a passion for the arts and a interest in working with people to support our events on a casual basis.
Our dance groups meet on Mondays in Bridlington (4.15pm-6.45pm) and Tuesday in Beverley (3.45pm-7.45pm) during term time and the Arts Support Worker assists the professional dance artist with the safe and successful delivery of the sessions and supports the group during annual performance events at Bridlington Spa and other venues. Our Classically Yours concerts work with national orchestras and the Arts Support Worker assists the events by setting up the venue, selling programmes, welcoming customers, checking tickets and conducting surveys. There are other adhoc events such as Freedom Festival events in Bridlington and touring performances where Arts Support Workers provide similar front of house functions or administrative support.
There is also occasional work supporting the team in the office with data entry or travelling to local venues to deliver leaflets and share information about events with local people. The Arts Support Worker role would suit someone looking for casual work to support their local community or gain experience of working in the arts.
We require someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and interested in the arts. To support the dance sessions, we also require someone who has experience of working with children and young people.
Work locations are Bridlington for Bridlington Youth Dance, Beverley for Beverley Youth Dance and various locations around the East Riding.
Applicants should refer to the attached job outline and specification for information on requirements for the post. Applicants must meet all of the essential criteria to be shortlisted for an interview.
