**The Role**:
Our client seeks a Power BI specialist to add to an existing small team to work closely with people across their organisation to create beautiful and functional Power BI reports, scorecards, dashboards and other analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge.You’ll convert data into stories that enable them to make data driven decision-making across their organisation.

**Duties will include**:

- Gathering, understanding and documenting business requirements for BI and MI solutions.
- Building a broad, collaborative relationship with end users to help them understand their data and bring context to it via Power BI based solutions.
- Creation and maintenance of Power BI datasets where applicable to ensure consistent data use through reporting landscape, and to empower citizen developers to produce their own reports.
- Developing and maintaining visual reports, scorecards and dashboards via Power BI desktop.
- Enabling citizen developers by acting as the champion of the product within the organisation, performing ad-hoc training and giving help, and curating available datasets for use.
- Migrating existing SSRS reports to Power BI.
- Querying SQL database sources to produce ad-hoc snapshots of raw data for analysis in Excel.
- Providing feedback about improvements to, and testing changes on, their data models.
- Contributing and supporting the continuous improvement of BI and MI information and processes across the organisation, including keeping up to date with the latest Power BI innovations and bringing them into the business.

**About You**:

- You will have at least 18 months of experience in designing, creating and maintaining data analytics solutions in a Power BI environment, with your focus being on the visualisation layer. This will include DAX queries.
- You’ll be experienced in consuming data from heterogeneous sources such as on-premise SQL databases, SSAS models and web data (Rest API).
- You’ll be familiar with relational database and multidimensional database design.
- Ideally you will have worked with tabular and multi-dimensional models and business data centric dimensions, facts and measures.
- You’ll be naturally inquisitive about data and be adept at spotting patterns and asking questions to validate what the data says.
- You’ll have the ability to think analytically and to translate and shape data into informative reports and visuals.
- You’ll need good verbal and written communication skills, being able to effectively communicate to non-technical and technical users.
- You’ll also need to manage your own time effectively within the priority guidelines given from management, and to be able to communicate progress and estimate completion on your open tasks.
- Any experience with advanced Excel functions, including Power Query and MDX, is an advantage.
- Exposure to working with data generated from a professional services business (financial, human effort/timesheet, efficiency KPIs, sales revenue/targets etc) will be an advantage.
- Any experience developing custom visualisations is beneficial, as is any experience working in a multi developer environment.
- Experience with other elements of the Power Platform environment (especially Power Automate) is beneficial.
- Any exposure to SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Integration Services (SSIS)/ETL processes is beneficial.
- Any relevant Microsoft certifications, especially DA-100 or PL-300, is a plus.

**Qualifications and Certifications**
- Minimum GCSE or equivalent Maths and English - grade C or above
