At Bioenergy Infrastructure Group (BIG), we’re on a mission to make **BIG** steps towards a carbon negative and sustainable future, in the management of waste.

We are building one of the UK’s largest portfolios of biomass and waste to energy facilities, which will have the potential to divert over 1.5 million tonnes of waste each year from landfill and deliver vital low carbon electricity capacity to the national grid, helping to meet demand from industry and households across the UK.

Since our journey began in 2015, we have now established a strong platform of highly competent experts in the construction, ownership and operation of this asset class, complete with an in-house Operations & Maintenance business.

**THE ROLE**

We're seeking a Plant Assistant to join us working on a shift basis and to contribute to the ongoing safe and efficient operation of the plant.

The position will play a key role in troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and rectification and general problem-solving to enable continuous improvement and responsibilities will include:

- Operating the plant to ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
- Carrying out routine plant-related duties to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability targets are met
- Performing fault diagnosis and responsive maintenance as well as proactive monitoring of the machine performance trends
- Work towards full operation of Plant Distributed Control System and Process Control Systems
- Actively participates in HSEQ activities

**REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCES**

We are open to considering applicants from a range of different industry backgrounds, it's not essential to have prior experience in the Biomass field.

We would however expect suitable applicants to have prior experiences of at least some of the following;
- Full working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements (IOSH qualification is desirable but not essential)
- Good communication skills, including spoken and written English
- IT proficient with experience using Microsoft Office package (ideally also MAXIMO or similar system)
- The willingness to learn and undergo a short training period which will involve learning the plant and the processes and procedures involved in operating a power station and a commitment to continuous personal development
- Ability to work a full shift system with flexibility to provide support as needed to ensure the safe operation of the Plant
