The Growth Company (GC) has an exciting opportunity for an Innovation Director to lead the development and expansion of its Innovation Services across the UK.

The Innovation Director will support the growth of the wider GC Business Support Services offer, as well as our consultancy offer via Ekosgen, which will include working with private and public sector stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To lead and grow the GC Innovation Service within the UK
- Be GC’s Subject Matter Expert, thought leader and solution/service developer including creating an Inclusive Innovation offer.
- Influence key commissioners, stakeholders and policy makers in the innovation agenda and create opportunities to grow the service.
- Lead and manage the existing IUK EDGE service and be the lead relationship manager with InnovateUK.
- Ensure performance standards met, financial parameters achieved and strong commission client satisfaction.
- Manage the team of IUK EDGE advisers; developing a culture and operating practices within the IUK EDGE service that improves performance, productivity, compliance, and quality of provision.
- To manage the IUK EDGE contract budget and ensure all claims are submitted within contractual deadlines. Develop, manage, and maintain relationships with key internal/external stakeholders to ensure the IUK EDGE service receives high quality referrals,and that all IUK EDGE clients are engaging with the wider range of business support services.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, and delivery of the wider GC services to fulfil GC strategic corporate plan and business growth ambitions

**About You**
- You must be a strategic and collaborative thinker with a focus on execution
- Initiative-taking with the ability to achieve targets, whilst adapting to changing business needs
- Skilled in Business Development, Relationship Management, Sales, and Bidding
- Experienced in delivering/leading service line/business growth
- Have programme, budget, contract, team performance management experience
- A track record in leading service improvement
- Experienced in forming constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

**Skills Required**:

- Have a detailed understanding of the Innovation agenda, product, and service development
- Knowledge of the meaning, and potential implementation, of Inclusive Innovation
- Experienced in the methodologies, approaches and latest 'thinking’ on innovation
- Ability to manage programmes/contracts within budget and on target
- Have business diagnostic/analytical skills to an advanced level
- An effective developer and implementor of strategic plans
- Be able to lead and inspire teams including appraising, mentoring, coaching and performance management
- Manage organisational change, strategy and tactics and relate to people at all levels whilst maintaining the trust and confidence of staff, external partners, the Board and Senior Management Team
